Dad, don't worry - you've provisioned for her very well, the house is paid off, she has annuities/income, we're close by to help...Dad said "no it's not that. it's when she dies - she'll be looking for me ...I replied " Don't worry ...she won't be going to the same place!

Hi everyone.  Joined a few days ago.  It's lovely to see such an active community; so many of the boards have faded away since Facebook became popular.

I live in a beautiful rural community along the southern coast of Oregon.  I am retired (was a computer systems administrator) and my husband is semi-retired, working out of the home as a consultant and traveling from time to time.  He's an avid fly fisherman  too, since coming to live in Oregon.   We moved here some eight years ago, leaving the sunny & always warm but hectic rat-race of Southern California far behind.  With nary a regret!

We are owned by cats and dogs, and a variety of wildlife.  I enjoy a variety of hobbies and interests.

Look forward to sharing more and meeting many of you in the days, weeks, months...etc., to come!

My mom is an 86 years old widow  living in the family home, for the past week she's been learning how to use the new deadbolt lock on the front door. She has been practicing how to unlock the door from the outside, which explains why she slept on the porch last night.

There are many groups on specific topics you can enter or you can start your own discussions.

Hi!...Actually, I thought this was a chatroom, but I guess not! Looks like a terrific site though, and I hope to see a chatroom added...unless there is one hiding somewhere and I just have to explore. lol

Are there real time chats in zoomers or is everyone like me who only casually wanders by this venue?
