I have found the answer to that horny old chestnut, namely is there life after death if anyone is reading this and is interested ?????

Hi Folks, I am completely new to this site and hope I can figure it out.  This post is experimental in nature, just to see if I can find it again! LOL  I am most interested in gardening, reading, quilting and making new friends since I retired last May. I wanted to ask a couple of questions in the gardening 101 spot, but I cannot see where to post a comment.  This seems like such a wonderful opportunity to meet folks.

Hi Joyce, I'm new here too and in the same boat of being newly retired. I haven't received my 1st pension cheque yet though but will in a couple of wks. My c/l husband hasn't retired yet ... not so anxious for that to happen. We're both homebodies so we might drive each other nuts, lol. I'm in Windsor, ON and have a friend in Kelowna BC. Anyway nice chatting & hope you have luck navigating this site & making new friends, Bev

Good Morning Everyone! and thanks for your reply Bev.  My hubby and I are both homebodies as well, but with our hobbies and love for quiet time reading, so far neither of us have teetered over the edge of sanity.

He retired due to health issues 15 years ago so he had a chance to adjust long before I was underfoot everyday.  I quite honestly, do not know how I managed to keep up while I was working, as it seems I never have enough time to get things done now.  I was so impressed to see that I found my way back to this page and even got your reply.  Hmmmm, now I need to figure out the gardening part of the site.  We lived in Kelowna for a few years when we first were married in 1971 (actually in Rutland) but migrated to Cochrane, Alberta, then back to the west coast to Victoria, BC.  It was really nice hearing from you Bev, and it would be nice to stay in touch, but I don't suppose everyone on this site is interested in our chatter. LOL

Thanks for yr reply Joyce & that's encouraging to hear two retired homebodies can live harmoniously...guess it depends on the couple though lol. I retired sooner than planned due to some health issues too & my recuperation is taking  alot of my time and attention. I hope to eventually travel and meet new people.

I think there's a way we can keep in touch by adding each other on our friends list but I'm not sure how yet...I'm still learning to navigate too. Its like the blind leading the blind but I'm sure someone will jump in to help us newbies...happy gardening & hope to chat again :-)

Welcome to the new members of the last 24 hours.  Nice to see this is not going to be a non-participating

site.  Welcome to BC Les and Deb, my son and his wife just move to the Abbotsford/Langley area in October and they really like it.  We visited a while ago and we were very impressed with the available services and shopping so close by their home.  I sure hope you will enjoy the more mild winters.  Welcome Tyrone as well.

My hubby is a fantastic cook and keeps me "well rounded". LOL  I hope you are able to find some northern recipes.  Nice to be in Nashville for the country music and colourful autumn trees.  I sure hope our little group

really grows over the next little while.
