We all know that Zoomers.ca is the place 'where grownups make friends'. But have any of you... um, actually... you know, turned into something more? And if not here, elsewhere online?

Well! Please let us know. We know you've had real talk about online dating and have had frank discussions about how your sexuality has changed as you've gotten older.

But as much as we know how overwhelming that 'second sexual revolution' might be, stats show that the 45+ are happier, more fulfilled & even satisfied with their sex lives now rather than then:

Older people who are past 50 are happier, more confident and more contented they found.

More than 60 per cent said that they found sex more fulfilling after 50 than when they were in their twenties and thirties.

Meanwhile 66 per cent of the over fifties questioned said they were satisfied with their appearance clothed compared to just 48 per cent when they were under 50.

In fact 32 per cent of the older generation were happy with how they looked naked now compared with 29 per cent when they were younger.

So let us know — specifically, Jane Brown at Classical 96.3FM & AM 740 News for a Valentine's Day story on successful Zoomer online matches — if that new-found energy has translated into online hook-ups.

What's been your experiences in finding 45+ love (and sex!) online? Tell us. You could be interviewed for a story on Classical 96.3 FM & AM 740 News about it!

Come on Zoomers.  I think I'm otta here.  Why do you have to use pictures like this for your article?  Not funny, cute or anything. And I'm well aware some people might think it is fine and others might not notice.  BUT, some of us do mind!!!!  Its a cheap approach leaving one thinking Moses is still acting out at this late stage of the game.
I agree with Sharon. It (the inserted pic) is crude, crass, and very off-putting; one more reason I don't read the discussions. Are there any poets left in the world to emote on the beauty of LOVE?
Hey Sharon and Goldie — didn't mean to offend! Our attempt at vérité-esque humor regarding love and sex in the boomer years clearly didn't go well. Thank you for the feedback — we've swapped the image for something that we hope is far more appropriate.
Thanks for your prompt response on both listening and then taking action.  Mama likes.

740 zoomer - that's much better, thanks for the change. A nice sense of humour is good too, see:

;-)

Hello:  Saw the pix...agree with all of the above...and as, to being interviewed...stated my case in The Coffee Shop...just wanted to add this one - which is not to say...that I always agree with Maxine either (because he is a MAN)

I can't resist borrowing a pic for this topic. ... for me, if the shoe fits ...

I appeciate that the shoe may fit for you, but I am soooooo tired of cartoons about seniors as looking cranky, withered and stupid.  The people in this cartoon would be more representative of my grandparents and I'm in my mid sixties.  The stereotyping of our age group in this way does nothing to help the cause.  Give me Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton instead - closer to the truth.

Sharon - I meant no offence. Cartoons are to be taken with a few grains of salt. This is a pic of me at 65 yrs. Am now 72 so have more grey these days:

I do appreciate your viewpoint on cartoons, after all being able to laugh is invaluable. And I know you meant no offence. However, having had a career in helping people feel and look their best, I have found that often certain kinds of comedy can be hurtful and entrench stereotypes that serve no one.  I really resent the cartoons of our age group looking 30 years older with no teeth and in a shabby state.  This pic of me is at 64 years of age.  And I am now embracing my gray hair and have no intention of looking like the Francene (?) old lady character that is suppose to represent my age group.  Its hard enough to compete, and be taken seriously for the wisdom, intelligence, common sense and tool box of life skills we bring to the table without these kinds of pictoral representations.

Oh Christine - how insulting to suggest only people who like these cartoons have a sense of humour.  Please stick to the issue  rather than attack the person for their point of view.  And the issue was about an offensive picture that zoomers put with an article on senior sex.  They had the common sense and wisdom to replace it with something more appropriate and no nastiness by anyone in the process.

Sharon, if you are soooooo tired of seeing cartoons, then don't look at them,......Goldie has as much right of expressing herself with a cartoon as anybody else.  The cartoons may look withered and stupid to you, but some of us have a 'sense of humour' and we enjoy a good cartoon.

Goldie! You are a fine 65 in this picture.

Sharon, we're curious — from a satirical standpoint — what cartoons DO exist that truly addresses in a humorous manner the boomer femme.

Off the top of our heads, we think of Doonesbury's Joanie...
