Take a look at the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas as well.
Florida has been cold the last few years, global warming isn't what it used to be.
Hi Wayne, I was just reading through my mail and happened to see your question, my aunt & uncle who lived in Kelowna BC used to go to Yuma, Arizona for the winter months, they left around Oct and came back in the spring. They did that for a lot of years. They also rented their home while they were away to help pay expenses (like health insurance, etc). However, they loved it down there but said it's hard to get into that park because they're always filled with regulars each year. It was a beautiful park but I cant remember the name of it. They started off by renting a trailer down there but then they bought one.
You might want to try the internet by looking up trailer parks and see what's available. If I find out the name of the park, I'll let you know. Good luck, sound like a good idea. Joan
I would very much like to know the name of a well cared for trailer park in Arizona, we would like to rent a manufactured home for Jan. & Feb. 2011.
We prefer Arizona to Florida as Florida is too damp.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
We stayed at Carefree Manor RV in Apache Junction 1-488-982-4008 That was on our last trip south the winter of 09 from Jan 15 to Feb 14 before continuing our slow trip to CA and back. (Motorhome travel for us)
The town was at the lower elevations which kept it warmer. Being at the foot of the Superstitution mountains however, a short car drive had you to high elevations which would cool you right off if you got into a warm spell.
The town had all the conveniences and it wasn't far to Wal-Mart etc. and the land was flat for bikes.
The resort had a large rec center and swimming pool and was well maintained.
In addition to the transients like us, there were those who stored their rigs there until they came back the next year. In addition, were the "permanent" units with car ports and storage buildings. Almost bought one of those. The prices were so reduced at that time.
We would definitely go back there.
