Hi all, I was wondering what kind of hobbies other people enjoy?
I myself love trains, I am a modeler of HO Scale Railroads, and have turned my passion into a business which I love!

I have many hobbies. The problem is, people tend to want to pay me for them and then they turn into a job. In the past I liked writing, photography, and tai chi. Each ended making me some money, but it's not a hobby anymore if you end up doing these things for someone other than yourself. These days I'm learning to paint. I doubt I'll ever be really good at that but I do enjoy it. Hopefully I've finally found a hobby nobody will be able to turn into work.
I have several..mainly farming and raising paso fino horses, but I also love photography(especially my horses and the Georgian Bay area of Ontario)painting, drawing, and I play keyboard..my 50 acres keeps me busy as I believe in working as you get older, and working as hard as you can...keeps me busy and out of trouble..
Well.....I like reading, gardening, walking BUT now we have a puppy, those things are put on hold right now, the puppy is a full time job, at 14 weeks she's a handful
LOL.....I forgot...I also love to go geocaching and play on the computer. I combined the two and put the results here www.georambling.blogspot.com
There certainly are a wide varity of hobbies here! I have also tried to start an educational web site for railroads, http://www.railroadtown.ca Part of that includes building a train layout that will be presented in schools and malls in an attempt to gain interest for young children in a "hands on" hobby, rather that mindless video games like Grand Theft Auto, etc...
You know, the stuff we used to build and enjoy when we were younger!
Guess I never grew up! LOL

Hi David,
Sounds like a great hobbie you have and you can play at the same time too! In my spare time I enjoy working on stained glass. You just reminded me to post my photos of some of my designs.
I hope you continue to enjoy your hobbie for a long time.
Cheers,
Donna Z.

Such wonderful work! As a retired plumber I always thought I would try stained glass as I am pretty good at soldering.

For more than thirty years, I have had a collection of authentic autographs of well-known Canadians- politics, sports, entertainment etc. Have more than a thousand, mostly collected by mail. Always on the lookout for new ones, so if you happen to have a Canadian autograph you'd like to have a good home, you're in luck!
I like to fish if you can call that a hobby, I also do woodworking and love to take pictures. I am just a amateur at taking pictures but I find it fun to do.
We do have a model railroad club around here and they do put on a show now and then. When they do I will get some pictures and post them.
For me it's digital photography, writing, RVing, motorcycling, garden landscaping, & music. Will probably take up Daoist Tai Chi again shortly too. Love traveling & exploring around the American Southwest during the winter months as well. Computers have also become a great hobby. Sooooo much to learn & so much to do........... AL.
I have to do some landscaping in my back yard, but what to do, I want to go green. Has anyone ever tried the plastic blocks vs the cement?
You might ask the nice folks in the gardening group. I for one
would go with stone for its natural beauty and it is free if you
pick up a few at a time. LOL

I love to needlepoint. There are not many stores or facilities to buy them as it is expensive to do rather than cross stitch. When I travel I always checkout the NPT shops in that area. I just finished a 1 1/4inch square pillow for a miniature dollhouse. Was very challenging. Would love to know if anyone else does needlepoint.
