I am not alone in complaining about loud TV commercials, although it may bother some a lot less than others. I heard a national television broadcaster discussing loud commercials. A media tech person had explained to him that the sound was not louder but it was enhanced to sound louder. Yeah well they are too annoying for me, loud or not and I mute and turn from about 95% of them.

Car commercials are the noisiest Zandra and interfere with the family conversation if they are not muted. But the invasive annoying clamor attracts attention and sells product; it's how much of advertising works.

Yes! Some of these companies think they can annoy you into becoming a customer.
Sometimes I misplace the remote when a TV commercial comes on and my wife will say something like, "mute that thing, I can't concentrate!" Or, "I can't hear you, turn that off!" - "That's the idea dear! Don't read, talk, or do anything else but pay attention to the commercial!"

That Weight Watchers commercial where she screams "it's a neeewww day" really goes on my nerves, and second to it is the Alarmforce guy. Equally annoying I find the Toyota ad where mother sings the kids to sleep with Hush little baby...blah blah blah. Is this an ad to sell a Toyota or a blue tooth or what?

My mute button is getting worn out.

The problem is not with the commercials being lounder than the regular programming, but with the regular programming not being as loud as the commercials. I say this in defence of those who don't hear so well.

But, life must be beautiful since we're complaining about the sound of tv commercials.
