Yes, you heard me right :>)

Unlike so many who winter in Florida, Arizona, or Mexico... this Barrie, Ontario couple would like to begin to winter in the city of Kingston, Ontario.

We have a comfortable home at Horseshoe Valley, just north of Barrie, Ontario where we have lived for over 25 years. As we get older, and realizing our only daughter left home at the age of 18 to attend university, it has suddenly occurred to us that we would love to spend more time with her.

Though we don't wish to go south of the border during our 6 months of snowy weather we would like to rent a comfortable furnished home,  house sit, dog sit or whatever else we can arrange... so that we can spend our winters in downtown Kingston.

It suddenly occurred to me that there must be retired couples in Kingston who close up their Canadian homes every winter to spend the winter in a warmer climate.

We don't wish to sell our present home yet as we'd love to summer here for many years to come.

There may be other retired couples who live in Kingston who might enjoy a house swap from November until April because they love to ski, snow shoe, or just plain love a snowy Canadian winter.

We live at a Golf/Ski Resort area at Horseshoe Valley (20 minutes north of Barrie, Ontario) and behind our beautifully treed sub-division is the 3000 acre Copeland Forest where our neighbours XC Ski, walk, hike, watch dog sled races and just have a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Then... there is Horseshoe Resort... Oh Wow!

Just go on-line and Google "Horseshoe Resort" to see the lineup of winter activities they offer to active seniors and their families.

If there is anyone out there who would like to speak with us about renting their Kingston home to us for the winter... or who would like to discuss a house swap for the Winter of 2012/2013. Please drop me a line so we can discover if we can figure out something that works for all of us.

Since Horseshoe is a ski resort we will not have any trouble finding ski loving winter tenants :>)
