Nutwood (Darlene), good for you. I feel the same (& make it known) whenever I am outside the country.

June, thank you!

Yvonne, excellent response, couldn't have said it better myself! You may not realize it but I believe you're such a breath of fresh air to this site when you comment. You possess great insight and somehow we do agree on everything. Thanks again!

Great to hear how the politics are going at home. It is quite bizarre here, no Florida channels carry one line of Canadian news, yet we get theirs at home on almost all stations! As I listen to how they fight around here over their upcoming election, the amount and time they spend getting there.. it seems to drag on forever. I learned years ago never get dragged into their politics! Heaven help them that the big topic is how the candidates wife did not have the right outfit on. Maybe out of the loop of what is going on at home in Canada right now, but never will I not be proud to tell all here I am a Canadian!   Darlene

MY POV:  Biases, prejudices, bigotries, chauvinisms, etc., we all have these negativities within our personalities to some degree, so we must decide for ourselves what fits into our own personal ideology.  One person’s truth is another person’s lies and vice versa.

Any person who denigrates another person with an opposing viewpoint to theirs is no better than the proverbial ‘bully’ and should not be tolerated or accepted within an exchange of ideas/opinions.

June Louise Roy + Frenchsalsa01 ...

I would agree with your comments and POV.

I'm glad Frenchsalsa01 that you have decided to continue with your comments.

Everyone's opinions/comments give opportunities for all of us to see both sides of the coin ... no matter if we agree or not.

I voted Conservative and I think they are doing the best they can in this economy. All parties have had their share of scandals, coverups, etc, so why bash the Conservatives..who have lowered our taxes..not raised them like other parties in the past have done.

Every election time it is the same story..bash the ruling party because they did not give us handouts left and right.

If you want to be concerned about politiucs..talk about getting rid of McGuinty in Ontario..worst politician ever IMHO.

Thank you for commenting, Yvonne. I wasn't going to comment on any political discussions here raised by Ron but I've decided to be one your supporters. I do luv your take on the NDP Party! We all know how they won their seats, don't we? Gosh for example, I actually know for a fact a few areas in Quebec where NDP reps were falsely placed, yet had never been there nor had they seen any of their constiguents. Oh and they couldn't even speak French .... in a highly populated French area, no less... hmmm ain't that a strange one (lol)?? I don't suppose Cheena nor Ron wants to  hear  more about their wonderful NDP party but wait till the next election and you'll see why many Canadians fear their policies and refuse to vote for them. This is nothing new, has been going on for decades.

I bet Ron and Cheena are happy now that we've commented, Yvonne (ya think?) ..... oh and we do all know about Broadbent, now don't we? If you really believe all their promises, then let me tell you that we  have some wonderful swampland in Fla for sale at a great price!!!!!

Hi Yvonne - I don't necessarily disagree with your post, but I do believe we have to start somewhere to change the system, b/c this one obviously doesn't work with these parties, for the reasons you've stated.

Answer 1.  At this point, I am "ABC" - anything but CONs!  They are the most destructive party EVER, and I truly fear for the future of my country.  There are things I both like and dislike about each of the other parties; however IMO, priority #1 must be to rid ourselves of this current  (ill-gotten majority) govt.  With the almost daily scandals, and leaks, we are finding out more and more that the cons. are anything BUT what they promised to be.

Answer 2: IMO, all msm are biased one way or another - depending on 'who' owns them.  That is a huge part of the problem as I see it..... They either don't report what we should be told about, or they report it with their political spin to it!  For the most part, they are owned by huge corps. which = the 1%, and will only mostly report that news that is of benefit to them.

I get my real news from the internet - there are many independent news media - you just have to choose which ones you believe in and keep caught up with them.  That at least is how I see it, and you?

Cheena ---

  • Ed Broadbent leader of the federal New Democratic Party (NDP)
  • Political website; Policy Alternatives is NDP and features Broadbent about joining and donating.
  • The Toronto Star or known as the ‘Red Star’ newspaper because of its bias political outlook against the Conservatives.

Question-1: For clarification, are you an NDP supporter?

Question-2: Can the AP website and the bias Toronto Star be believed in their bias information?

In MY POV of the Political Parties of Canada— They all seem to be cut from the same bolt of cloth …

CONservatives

LIEberals

No Damn Power (NDP)

Hey cheena G.....good on you! mate............there's so much to talk about and connections to make and letters to write..it's gotta start some where..............I'm goin' easy for now.....apparently there is a site where Harper's shite is listed...there's been so many fiascoes

that I need to read up on....more later......I'll try to keep it limited to those 50+.......I hope that more people will weigh in, because this is definitely current and strikingly important to us 'older' folks....ie" if nothing is said then they think they have a green light......screw that!.....stay tuned....buenos dias!
