Hi. I was raised in Calgary. Still love the place, live in smaller city now. Still get back to visit family whenever I can. I lived in Whitehorse for a year; spent 15 years in Nova Scotia; returned to Alberta in '95. I love it here. Hope spring & summer arrive soon. I gotta get away to the mountains!

Hi Albertans, I just found this forum (I am kind of new to this site) and I live in Calgay.  Arrived in Calgary in 1987 from Toronto (born + raised) but have become a true Calgarian now and wouldn't return to Toronto to live ever. I find it bad enough if I have to go back just to visit some family members. I love Calgary and the great, friendly, clean, WEST with the beautiful environment, mountains ... all of it. Alberta may not be perfect, but it sure is a million times better then Ontario. YAHOO!

Hey all,

Born in Ottawa, moved to Edmonton when I was 10. Have lived in Alberta all my life and love it here. Best province in the country. Since I've retired I seem to be busier than when I was working, but it's having fun and enjoying life............not "workin for the man". Has anyone seen spring yet...........if you have send it over to Spruce Grove we would love to see some green grass and leaves on the trees..............oh well it'll come sooner or later!!!!!!!

I'm not crazy about he politics out here, growing up in Ontario - I lean much further left - My old boss, when he I told him I was moving to Alberta did not think I'd last very long in "Klein Country". Politics aside it is a gorgeous province and I'm glad we came!

Happy New Year to all. I have lived in BC since 1972 but was born and raised in Alberta and consider Alberta home. All my immediate family live in Alberta and now my 24 year old son is working in Alberta. My 28 year old daughter wants to move to Alberta but her partner is not so keen. I have been considering moving back. The one thing that stops me is the winter although this year we have had winter on the lower mainland. I have an Asian girlfriend who wanted to know why I was different that the other people she has met in BC. I told her it is because I am an Albertan. Looking forward to meeting new friends. Cheers to all. Katheleen

Hi Lorraine, and welcome to Alberta zoomers! Did you say that there is not a lot of snow in Millet now? I just came in from out in my back garden and it was up to my knees ! And I am in Calgary ! Mind you, you are probably comparing the amount with what you have been used to in Northern Alberta. Hope you enjoy this site, it is a wonderful way to connect with other people and make new friends from all across Canada. Hope you had a good Christmas holiday and hope the new year will bring you good health and happy times. Best wishes, Coral Jean
