Yes it is new RevCan has been deducting 25% since May but according to their guidelines I was still a resident of Canada as  I was in El Salvador on a tourist visa, didn't get my residency until July.

Think that as soon as the embassy here certified my birth certificate & CRC they jumped the gun & started deductions with no warning or explanation until I received a letter in August.

I am a very unhappy Canadian passport holder right now, especially after an hour long interrogation by CBSA agents who treated me like a criminal when I returned for a couple weeks in August.

Just joined Zoomers & found this group. I am a Canadian who just found this group, if it's still active I am wondering how you are dealing with the automatic 25% tax withheld on tour OAS/CPP pensions?

Hi Sheila, thanks for the discussion page, I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana, long story short, trying to sell my home here so I can move back to London, Ont. Most of my life I have lived in the states, but I call Canada home. What takes you to Mexico..

Hello and welcome to everyone.I thought this would be a great addition to Zoomers. I know many expats who will use this site and it will allow us to keep connected and make new friends.

Hope to meet you here
