It's not really a sister station Annette.  They have two towers, one on the CN Tower and one in Coburg, so they can reach a broader ajudience.  I keep both frequencies on m y car radio.

As an aside, Joe was news director of it when it was only in Coiburg.

I moved out of Toronto a year ago and was concerned that I might be out of the 96.3fm listening range.  However sister station 103.1 fm provides me with the same programming so I can continue to enjoy.

I've seriously needed classical music for 50yrs, started as a child with my transistor radio. Laid awake listening to Boston Pops with Arthur Fiedler. I've tuned in to 96.3 for at least 30 yrs

I've listened to it for more years than I can remember, in fact my late husband was the first news director of the station when it was still a little one on Coburg.  It was small but had a great following and it wasn't until it got the second antenna on the CN Tower and then after Moses Zneimer bought it that the commercials came pouring in. Especially in the morning when I used to wake up to it.  Now there's more and more commercials just like all the other stations.  It's only at night now that there is hardly any.

That's my rant for today.  It's still my favorite station though..

I listened to Il Volo perform at the 96.3 concert lobby just a few minutes ago. I just love this group. Surely a role model for the youth. I have seen them first at the American Idol and watched them sing  "O Solo Mio". Nothing beats their rendition of "Smile". I heard it first while I was driving. I sobbed and sobbed, as if I was grieving (perhaps, I still was as my husband passed on three years ago though I am truly happily married now). At the same time, I felt such a relief when the song finished playing. No matter, because that's my nature (that's why I bought all the adagios from the Moses Znaimer's CD collection). I'm just so glad that I did not get invited to their performance or I would have bawled like a child who got deprived of an ice cream, LOL. I just loved your station. It's my medicine with whatever emotions and moods I am in. Love you guys. Keep up the good work.

Hello all!

Just wanted to let you know about a special concert happening in our Concert Lobby today at Noon. Teen tenor sensations Il Volo will be performing and chatting (for an hour!). They've taken the world by storm - and they're only 16 and 17! Watch this video and you'll be blown away by these young talents:

Click here for more info on Il Volo - and tune in to www.classical963fm.com at 12PM EDT (and click play on the video player).
