It'll be a frosty Friday before I can attend an opera or ballet in person as I live in a small town remote from musical action on a grand scale. But I'm pleased to acquire a DVD or CD of what is…Continue

For cheap ballet, for all us seniors not getting senator type pensions, consider Cineplex's events series.  You can see the Bolshoi Ballet for $22.00, they recently showed the WInnipeg Ballet's "Moulin Rouge", it was stunning.  Cineplex also hosts National Theatre Live, fabulous plays shown at your local cinema  same price.  Sadly this is not well advertised but if you go to and check "Events" they list all upcoming, theatre, ballet and opera showings.  It's a bargain not to be missed.

Anyone going to see Swan Lake at Hamilton Place on Saturday, Nov. 3?

I would love to see the Bolshoi Ballet doing Swan Lake!

Wish I could afford it. I used to have a season ticket. Not any more.

I'm in Toronto and would be very interested in going to the occasional opera or ballet.  I really need someone to motivate me though.

I can't afford it <sigh>. I dearly want to see Swan Lake but the lowest seat price for seniors in the balcony is $61.xx and I just can't justify spending that much. I have too much on my Visa now and MUST pay it down, not add to it. They will only be here for 7 performances.

"Hi Alex. Yeah I know what you mean. I hardly got out at all this past winter and I'm just getting over that now. Once my OAS starts I plan on joining a seniors center nearby for the exercise programs."
