I have had my CARP membership since just before I hit my 50th birthday. I have enjoyed many of the benefits this has to offer - lower travel insurance rates being the huge benefit when your employer doesn't offer insurance.

Now, I'm looking forward to my cell phone plan coming to an end!

Anyone who knows me can tell you, if you can hold any kind of membership card that gives you discounts, that card is in my wallet and well used!

Also, the wealth of information provided in our CARP (now ZOOMERS) magazine, is well worth looking at.

There is no shame in aging, only in not doing anything to benefit from it!

For twenty-five years, CARP has been a significant voice in Canada for the 50plus crowd. With Zoomers encouraging everyone age 45 and over to join, we would like all Zoomers to consider becoming members of CARP. Why? There are three main reasons- (1) advocacy. CARP has been the voice nationally which has spoken out on issues which affect all Canadians but especially those 50 and over. We have an excellent advocate, Susan Eng, who is our voice in Ottawa and beyond when issues arise. (2) member discount directory. All CARP members receive a directory of CARP-recommended companies who give our age group a break- these cover a wide variety of benefits. (3) Zoomer magazine. This magazine edited by Suzanne Boyd has hit the magazine stands with a boom- attention grabbing covers which so far have featured Wayne Gretzky, Dayle Haddon, Bryan Adams and Margaret Atwood, but lots of content for all ages. If you are a Zoomer and have never been a CARP member, this is your chance. Moses Znaimer has given CARP a jump start which will benefit us all. Go to www.carp.ca and you can become a member on-line. Try it for a year and then decide whether you want to continue. CARP is marching to a million members- we need you. Every new member adds clout to our voices on issues which affect us all. Membership cost is going up later this year- sign up now and benefit. We have just renewed our membership for three years at the lower price.

"Hi Gary: You are absolutely right. It looks like the picture of the Chaparral has been put in the picture afterwards. You are an experienced photographer, if it were so, would it be called today 'photo shopped'?? "
