Trees are budding & grass is greening here on the South Shore of NS. Traces of snow are just about gone & signs of tourists are already zooming up & down the highways. Looks like we survived another winter.

I think us East coast people were buried in so much snow we didn't have time for anything else!  lol  Looks like there still might be snow in my yard on June 1st!!  Looking forward to some warm sunny days!!

Doesn't seem to be too active here but I will give it a shot.

I am from PEI, and I get horribly homesick even hearing the hokiest down home music.

Like nearly anything from Stompin' Tom.

Anyway it should be a lot more fun around here than this folks!

Come on now "you fella's" we have a reputation to keep up!

LOL and Cheers!

I'm still hanging around in the background.  Waiting for someone else to talk!  lol

I finished work the end of September.  Went to Halifax for Thanksgiving and stayed for 10 days.  I took the elderly man I look after with me.  He will be 90 in December.   It was the first time he had been in Halifax since returning from the war!!  I think he noticed a few changes!  lol

My daughter & her fiancée took us for a drive to Lunenburg.  The Bluenose is still in port.  The refit is almost done so the ship will be ready for next summer.  We also went to Mahone Bay.  I love it there!!

On another day my daughter & I took the gentleman to the Military Museum at Stadacona.  It was very interesting!!

I'm busy getting ready for winter.  The firewood is in the yard (6 cords).  I just have to convince it to jump down the hatch into the basement.  Two cords in so far, gotta get at that stacking!

My daughter and I are also very busy planning our trip to Europe.  We will be spending almost a week visiting family places in England, to Vimy Ridge for 3 days, then to Italy.  Due to flight connections we get to spend 6 hours in Paris!!  What to see?!  What to see?!

I'll be taking part in the Remembrance Day service in Charlottetown this year.  The gentleman I look after will be standing with the other Veterans.  This is always an emotional time for me.  Not quite sure why.

Ron - Any idea what area you want to move to?  Do you want to build, buy a finished place, or buy a place that needs work?

I hope you are having nice weather.  It is too early to see any of that white stuff!!!

Well, I'm still in a daze after my unexpected trip to Orlando, Florida in April!!  One week I'm talking with my oldest daughter & we decide that we won't be going on a trip as we are saving money for our Europe one in 2014.  Then I see a post from my youngest daughter.  She was working for Disney Cruise Line.  She wanted to know who would like to join her at Disney World.  Jokingly I said "I do! I do!".  That was on a Tuesday.  Thursday when her ship was in port, she sent a message wanting to know if I really wanted to go.  I told her I didn't have the money.  She tells me to call her sister as they are chatting & working on figures.  Saturday, when the ship is in port again, the youngest sends another message "I have to know by Tuesday so you can get your security check done"  Oldest daughter and I have a marathon phone conversation to check prices & things to do.  Sunday we decided I could use my Air Miles for my flight.  Only need cash for the rest of the trip.  Get word from the youngest, she has asked about accommodations & we (oldest & I) get a great discount.  Sunday night we are booking our plane tickets!!!  Ten days later we are off to Orlando!  lol  When the youngest joins us in Orlando, I ask what is my share of the accommodations & meal plan.  She says nothing, it is for all the birthdays & Christmases she has missed over the last 4 years!!!  The 5 day trip cost me $700!!!

The last time I spent more than a few hours with my youngest was October 2008!  We had a blast!!!

I am so glad I went as last week my youngest took a Nanny position in Turkey.  (Hmmm, wonder if I'll get a plane ticket for Christmas?!  lol)

I haven't had any lobster yet.  Must get some this week as the season is almost done!

I just bought a 2nd hand ride-on mower. (Thanks to my son.)  I managed to spend an hour cutting grass last night.  Hope it stops raining soon so I can get all the yard done (about 1/2 an acre).

Back to work in a couple of weeks.  I am manager at the Women's Institute hall in Stanley Bridge.  There are ceilidhs every night of the week this year!  Now I have to decide which 2 groups do I want to miss so I can book my days off!!

Hey Zoomers, what interesting and/or exciting things have been happening in your part of the world.  Any interesting travel destinations nearby?
