Comment by Eric Reynolds on June 12, 2012 at 8:47am So what is "good"? If you read the article about the force in one's mind being that which is considered good, there will be an obvious question. What is it? Is it the same for everyone or is it something we can choose at random depending on our desires?
This article presents a Socratic conversation from ancient Greece. I found it particularly relevant for today's world since we have such conflicting views of "the Good".

Comment by Eric Reynolds on May 30, 2012 at 6:58am Thanks for sharing that Laura. Many years I ago I was at Moraine Lake and had a humbling experience of both its unimaginable beauty and my relatively small place in the scheme of things.
Comment by laura52 on May 24, 2012 at 8:10pm I returned home from our home country, Canada, in Kananaskis, Banff and Vancouver and it was, without a doubt, the most fulfilling, spiritual connection I have ever had with "this land is our land"....

Comment by Eric Reynolds on February 25, 2012 at 8:08am I recently answered this question: "Meditation without mysticism?" Here is my answer:
You are spot on with inner calm as the focus of learning meditation. I have been practicing for over 25 years and have jettisoned all the mystical and religious stuff in favour of just sitting quietly.
There is a great deal of medical evidence now that supports the psychological benefits of meditation. Stress relief and its associated health benefits is particularly assisted by meditation. Here is a link to some medical reports from the US Library of Medicine: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=…
My website has some instructions on how to practice secular meditation. Also, you can sign up for my free recording of the Jacobson Relaxation Technique. Go to www.learningserenity.com and click on Free Gift and How to Meditate.
Comment by Eric Reynolds on February 15, 2012 at 10:37am Meditation is half the story of creating a serene life. The other half is the use of our ability to reason. Here is what I mean by the word "reason" : The Jewels of East and West
