Angela Lansbury in "Driving Miss Daisy", stage play, Australia, with James Earl Jones. July 17, 2015.. - I managed to tune in the other night on TV to the perennial favourite Angela L. and as usual she did well. Her broad impersonation of a southern accent reminded me of the film "Blue Hawaii", mid-1960s, when she played Elvis Presley's mother. She made him laugh even during filming with her amusing 'over the top' twang.

Decades ago in Toronto I saw the film version with Jessica Tandy which had more subtle shades of expression than a stage performance would have. The ending is a moment of quiet thoughtfulness when we realize we all face the challenges of getting old each in our own way.

Have been watching "The Jewel in the Crown" (1984) which I vaguely remember seeing years ago. Might end up acquiring it as it's a good lesson in history plus excellent actors, some say the best drama series ever made. One can't help thinking also of "A Passage to India" (1984), very similar but on a less grand scale.

Some friends went to see her, and said she made the show, great ovations for her, and a REALLY RECEPTIVE audience of Jessica Fletcher fans.

Big mess in Ukraine, I'm sorry to see.

Hope you are well, Goldie.  Up early, or still up from last night?

Hi Goldie!

Boy, you are not the only person I know with THAT Never go-away Flu.

Just feel better for a day and bang, it nails you again.

Yes, good that we are doing something to help the Ukraine.

Will have a look at the website.  Thanks.

One day at a time, will beat this!  :-)
