hi all------am just recently getting involved with photography and have reached my limitations with my old canon power shot a510......am now thinking of a nikon p 7000-------any comments?

Nice choice Jacqui. Keep in mind the videomaspect, ie 1920 x 1080 will take up a lot of space on your computer. Plus focusing in DSLR video is not yet on par with prosumer camcorders.

Even so, it's a very nice camera and as Andy notes above, go to the sites he mentioned doe in-depth reviews. As well, I would also check out preview.com.

Another camera recommendation ... A Nikon D300S which is similar to the D7000

Generally, I buy a body-only and choose better quality lenses than the packages offered.
