We want to head south this winter for a month but are completely new to this type of vacation. We are interested in southern Arizona (looking in Scottsdale area but not just--I need warmth) or…Continue

The first thing I would recommend is that you put the photos you want to share in an album created either by google, picassa or on sympatico. Either one of these sites offer photo albums. And they're…Continue

My husband and I are both travelers since our youth and it has been a journey to remember..hitchhiking, getting invited into many lovely homes,  new friends which we still have today from our many experiences. I lived in six different countries and my German husband has decided to settle in the Caribbean . Our friends ages are from 26 - 80 years old.  We will be leaving on the 25th January,2016 via Tobago, Germany, India onto Melbourne,Australia to Alyce Spring, [Ayers Rock] now Uluru. The Gran Train to  Adelaide.

Any suggestions ?

Hi. Has anyone been to Antarctica? Just returned and would love to hear about someone else's adventure. I've never experienced anything so stark and beautiful and compelling. Thanks.

What has been your most memorable adventure? Or, is that even a feasible question to ask? I've just returned from Antarctica. Its beauty is stark and compelling and unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. Has anyone else gone to Antarctica? I'd love to discuss your adventure. Thank you. Marianne Perry

My branch of the Crews family left England in the late 1700s or early 1800s.  They were from Ashburton, Devon.  They were also a branch from the family in Tiverton.  Cruwys Morchard is the starting place.

My grandfather survived WW1 but with injuries.  He died in 1953.

Hi Megan,

I can understand why you are excited to be going to Turkey, I have never been but plan to in the next year or so. However, I was in England, Belgium and France last April for the Canadian War Memorial Tour. We visited Dieppe, Vimy Ridge, Juno Beach among a few and walked the trenches, visited bunkers, underground tunnels, museums, to name a few. It was a very intense and emotional tour visiting the sites where so many gave their lives in WWI and WWII only to be buried in an unmarked grave . I was so fortunate that my dad returned home. In London, the Churchill War Rooms and the Canadian Memorial by Buckingham Palace are well worth a visit.

I have been to England many times as my mum was from Aldershot. Where in England was you family from?

 Italy is amazing!

I am sure you are going to enjoy the experience.

I didn't travel much when my husband was living.  He didn't want to go anywhere except to Nova Scotia to visit his family.

I am certainly making up for it now!!!  lol  In April my oldest daughter & I went to Orlando, Florida.  This trip just a few weeks after we said we weren't going anywhere as we needed to save money!  lol  My youngest daughter was working on a Disney cruise ship & got a trip to Orlando.  We spent a few days with her & loved exploring together!

Now the youngest has taken an AuPair position in Turkey.  The family she is working for is paying my flight to go visit her!!!!  I will be going over in October.  I am so excited!!!

In April 2014, my oldest daughter, her fiancée, & I are going to England, Vimy Ridge, & Italy.  I have wanted to go to Vimy for over 30 years!!  I don't think it has sunk in that I am really going!  lol

We are doing a family history tour of England.  I have found where my own family originated from.  On my husband's side, I have found where his grandfather was born plus 3 other houses the family lived in before heading to Canada.

We will also be travelling part of the route my grandfather did when he was in England & France during WW1.  I have my grandfather's service record which lists the places he was in & the hospitals he was in when he was wounded.

This should be an exciting & emotional trip.

Hello everyone. I used to travel a lot through all Europe... France, Belgium, England, etc... but now stranded home... traveling too expensive for my present budget. So hoping my little business will flourish soon and that I can resume my traveling. In the mean time, I will travel through your comments :)

Hi Cynthia,

I too am a traveller and in fact, I was in your native Wales about six years ago . My friend and I did a self-drive vacation and rented a cottage. Great fun but oh those roads are horrid. I see you have been to the Scotland Islands. Do you mean the Isle of Mull, Orkney and such? I am planning on going there in 2014 . I have a lot of travel miles on me as I started at the age of eighteen and have yet to slow down. My last trip was to Iceland in June of last year with my son Jason. Fantastic!

Glad your sister is recovered from her illness .

I have never been to Mexico and my husband will not go as he thinks it a dangerous place to travel.

I have never travelled on my own, usually with my husband, one of my sons who loves photography, or one of my friends. Tell myself that I will go to Europe by myself but haven't the courage as of yet.

Anyway, I hope to hear from you soon and good luck with the moving.
