My Poor Chihuahua Abby sounded so cute today. She went and had her nails trimmed and she kicked up such a stink that she now has a raspy squeak instead of a bark lol. She all but lost her voice from barking and screeching at the groomers doing her nails. she hates it with a passion..

Bixby's Canine Capers

Available from Amazon as either a book or as Kindle, Bixby's Canine Capers is a must-read for all ages, from nine to ninety.  You'll have a hard time putting this book down until you finish it.  The plot twists, the clever play on words (especially in the first chapter), and the great writing which is so readable for any age make this book a must-have for anyone's personal library.  I eagerly look forward to the next installment from this awesome author, Chris Hammer, as I'm sure many of you are, too.  You can't go wrong by buying this book.  I especially like the fact that all proceeds go to support Irving House, an animal sanctuary where older and special-needs animals are cared for by special people.

Here's the link to the Amazon listing:

I live in BC were there is a residential rule that says we can have pets, but the landlord must allow them.. i have 2 small dogs and have found it impossible to find a place to rent because of my companions so i continue to live in a hovel. this pet issue has created many problems for us renters and for the animals as well.. so many pets get turned over to the Humane Society  ( SPCA) due to this rule..i feel that this rule ( clause) is discriminatory a human rights violation. so many of use have health issues and need our pets to help us with daily living, be that physical or emotional. we all know the research that has been done over the yrs to prove that pets help us all to stay healthy.

I feel like a second class citizen in this province due to owning my pets, to not rent to us is discrimination. looking for others to create a grope here in BC to take action towards this rule.. note * even if folks can pay the pet deposit we are not giving a chance.

Anyone?

Hello Margaret!  There are a couple of other groups on here, Kitty and Dog Groups where you might find a bit more action.  Just look up at the headings, and click on Groups.  Hope to see you over there!

Hello to all:

I just found this group

and being a pet owner

joined up to meet and chat

with some of you

I have a very large cat myself,

and have had about 5 cats in my lifetime

She is creamy colour and female

and very lazy, I must admit

unfortunately, I do not have a px to post

Both dogs and cats are special to me,

as are all animals and nature

I enjoyed looking at the px

you have posted here

Sedona :)

Just saw on TCM an old Edison short film, 1894, called "The Boxing Cats". The trainer has a harness on each cat and controls their movement; they've got small boxing gloves on and are mildly swatting away. Curious, I must say!

We have a new arrival at our home. LB is a cast off from a divorce. We recieved her from my daughter's boss who was very very allergic to her who took her in after the divorce of a coworker. She is a Pomerain and she is eight years old. She has really taken to our 29 year old son . Can't understand why but she is following him all over the place. LB gets along pretty well with our two year old cocker spaniel Angus. Linda

Meggie is about 15 now, and not really very interested in going for a walk. Rather stick around and sniff everything. Yesterday, she was doddering and I tugged on the leash to encourage her to come along. Well, she did her magic trick, slipped her collar and left me walking with an invisible dog. Wasn't there a movie where the butler used to walk an invisible dog?

I got my purebred mutt from a gal who had just split with her husband and HAD to get rid of the dog, in 1999. Meggie (the dog) was a wild woman!! I actually had to buy her a big kennel so that I could leave her at home if I had an appointment. That was after she tore the house apart when I left her the first time. I took her to the vet for her shots and my wonderful vet sat on the floor with Meggie while I tried to keep her in the corner long enough to get her needles. One has to wonder what the dog went through in the four years prior to her arrival at my place. Well, eleven years later, she has become a wonderful dog, pretty ancient for a big gal, and pretty wobbly on her back end. I too am happy to see that several people have rescued desperate animals. Good on you guys!!
