KAREN, THANKS FOR THAT.  I WONDERED IF IT WAS MORE THE MARTIAL STYLE. I THINK IF THE INSTRUCTOR OF THE TAOIST WAS NOT CENTERING THE MOVES,IT WAS PROBABLY HIS WAY.  WE KEEP VERY CENTERED, BUT THE EMPHASIS IS MORE ON STRETCHING. THE SLOWER WE DO THE MOVEMENTS, THE MORE SWEAT WE WORK UP.

I AM SORRY FOR THAT MARYLINLOU.  ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS TO HAPPEN IS TO LOSE A CHILD. YOU ALWAY EXPECT TO BE THE ONE TO GO FIRST.  MY HUSBAND AND I LOST HIS MIDDLE SON AT THE AGE OF 21. IT IS DEVASTATING. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT KNOW THAT HE WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AND WATCHING OVER YOU.  YOU HAVEN'T LOST HIM. FOR A WHILE HE'S JUST IN ANOTHER ROOM.

Barb, I've really only done Classical Yang style Tai Chi, which is, I suppose, a fighting style as the movements are very similar to what I see at the Karate club every week.  From what I could see of the Taoist's around here, they tend to lean into the movements more, instead of keeping well centred.  Of course, that could just be their instructor doesn't know any better. The form they do seems to be the same one, but there are some differences as to how they do certain moves....like brush knees, for instance.  I never would have recognized that.

Excuse me if I happen to comment on something that is no longer being discussed. I'm still a few pages behind.

Like Linda, we went on time of use on December 15th (Merry Christmas to us!) but other than the holiday week, I see by looking at www.hydroone.ca that I'm not doing to badly at dropping my usage.  And I'm able to say that I have dropped from 50% usage at the cheapest rates, down to 67% at the cheapest rates. I'm still afraid of what I'll see when I get that first bill.  As far as I can tell though, the thing that seems to use the most electricity is hot water.

I tried to take my bath first thing in the morning, as soon as hubby left for work at 6:30am,  thinking the tank would heat up again before the high rates kicked in.  No such luck.  I may have to consider a gas hot water heater in the future.

MarilynLou:

I am very sorry to hear that your son died yesterday. It is always difficult to loose a son or daughter. I know as my son died in a car/train accident at age 22 and I lost a brother when he was 21 years old. A very difficult time for you and time does not heal completely.
