AtticsRemember in the "old days" when houses used to have attics? I was fascinated with exploring my grandnother's attic in New Edinburgh, Ottawa. The attic was accessed by a pull-down set of steps…Continue

Barb, you may recall I sold my house in Toronto in less than a week a year ago. I didn't even have time to clean it up. I thought you seemed to have quite a bit of energy when you were here last week. Don't push yourself, but I do think a little exertion is all to the good.
Is it almost a year? Time goes so fast. I just looked at the thermometer. It is 10 already. I wonder how much more it's going to go up. this must be our taste of spring.
People saeem to have a hard time selling their places in larger towns and cities. Around here they are snapped up almmost as soon as they come on the market. Right now seems to be the time to put them up and when they are bought. There are three on my street that have just been put up for sale. there is someone looking at them several times a day. One has an offer after a week ande I think probably by next week they will be gone. It's probably because we seem to be a destination for seniors and in the old part of the village houses are so much cheaper than in the subdivisions.
I may just try going for a walk around the block today, I have been good and rested for the last three weeks and have gotten some my energy back. I'm supposed to keep resting until the end of the month to let my lung heal, bu the way I feel I don't think a little walk in the sunshine should do any harm.
This is the day we are supposed to have a heat wave here. The sun isn't up yet, but the sky is blue with some pink streamers of cloud. I just realized that it is coming up to a year since I first saw my new house. I was thinking about that when I went out on my bare deck this morning to sniff the air. Last year at this time there was a huge mound of snow on it. Now there's nothing.
Welcome back Marilyn Lou, so nice to have you back, many of us were so concern and missed you so.. Sorry Marilyn Lou that you have gone though the same as me, now 3x exhausted, depressed, disappointed, are enough word to express my emotions right now. Gary my home is 86 yrs old, it receives steams of water, no standing, no puddles, and only from 3 area's, all the houses around here have the same problem I found out she the buyer has the same problem in the house she's selling over 4 blocks away...I am lucky I don't live closer to the Saint Mary's River, those homes flood during the string run off., YOu can see and I didn't of course send you the pic, but the front yard has 21 solar lights outlinig the gardens the back yard has 14 solar lights some arund the patio, in the walk ways and graden area..again this house has brand new roof, insulation, windows, sidding, furnace etc yes Gary I can hang on, the payments are less than ,...... hold on... $600 a month including taxes and insurance.. thats not my problem..am tired of mainance and up keep and I want to go across the border and enjoy Canada before am too old to run in the parkand be chased by a lovely handsome Canadian man..ahahah
pat what part of Canada are you..?? NO sign of snow here any were, but, were not through March yet, or April, this has been the mildest winter in 30+ yrs.. and In the past I have seen it snow in May..were enjoying what we have for now.. would you believe my Lily's are about 3 inches up and Tulips are coming up too, I so need to get out their, rake, cut back, pull up and trim up
before new growth appears on some..think I only lost 2 rose brushes adn I think thats due to the ABBY, she seems to find then tasty..
Realestate - it's been done to me! The buyer dropped the deal while I was in the lawyer's office to sign the papers!! And they kep the deposit!! I was depending on that deposit for 1st months rent for an apt. They got away with it and their lawyer actually told me my lawyer let me down and was not paying attention! I got a new lawyer and that one didn't have the nerve to bill me for his "services".
I can't even think about going out and raking. I still have over 3 feet of snow in places in both my front and back yard. Maybe in another month or 2?
Over all the weather is bright sunny and windy but warm, about 58 fr.suppose to be near 68 by Friday, then rain rolls in. You right you put down a deposit and you walk away, then you lose the deposit,,,.,,,, but (always that but) you have to show just cause of damages to the seller!!! thiats the fine print... or and they show just cause why they walked away..Now in this case its going to be more differecut for them, because she did sign the disclosure that stated, mositure in the basement during heavy rains and recommends a sump pump to be installed.. She signed the document that she's she read it, and accepts it there for she can't come back on us and tell us, she had No knownledge of..its always the fine print..but in this case, she didn't even read the BIG PRINT..AHAH, its just so disappointing now it time to brush off my sorrow and get the rake out and rake all the winter branches up
Marilyn, I can't believe that someone would do this. You don't deserve this frustration. I don't blame you for going after the deposit. I don't know much about real estate law but I thought that if your offer had been accepted and the buyer backed out that they lost the deposit.
Bright and cool here today but it's supposed to go up to 10 tomorrow. Then rain or wet snow on Thurs. Gary, if you lived up here you would still be waiting for the other shoe to drop so to speak. We usually get at least one bad storm around St Pat's Day. Once it gets to the end of March, we start to think that spring is just around the corner.
Thanks Alexander I needed that..
