Good morning,  sun and 12 today, spring is coming, melting snow and hip waders needed later today.  So much to do.  From the earlier posts,  I had muscle damage from Lipitor, my Dr. did not check my liver, or warn me about side effects, that was 10 yrs. ago, I hope Dr.s monitor better now.  Have a great friday all.

Marilyn, I live in the Ottawa Valley in eastern Ontario.  I am in a little village in the boonies but I can be in Ottawa in less than 2 hours.  I am NW of Ottawa.  We have had a very unusual winter (?) this year.  Our first snowfall was Christmas Day.  We got most of our snow from then until the end of Jan.  I have someone who shovels for me.  I think he was here everyday in Jan and only 3 or 4 times since then.  It went up to 15 today so we lost some of the snow.  It is supposed to rain tomorrow so a lot more will go but we will probably get a couple more storms before the end of the month.

I'm glad to hear that real estate is moving somewhere in the country because it sure isn't here.  I can think of 3 houses within a block of where I live that have been on the market for at least a year.  One has been for sale for at least 2 or 3.  You can't sell anything in this town.  That is the main reason that I would rent this one if I decided to move to a smaller place.  I can't afford to sell it the way the way the real estate market is right now around here.

As soon as I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, my doctor put me on Crestor which is a statin drug.  It has kept my cholesterol down and I haven't had any side effects.  That is unusual for me since I have a tendency to react to a lot of medications.  I have Crohn's Disease and am very prone to diarrhea.  The one druggist just laughs when I get a new med and that is one of the possible side effects.  It just means I have to take more Lomotil and Imodium for a few days so the diarrhea doesn't get too bad.

Yes I have to agree with everyon ONTARIO AND OTHER AREAS' THROUGH OUT CANADA your real estate market is great!! I have followed it for some time, The last I read, the real estate market in Ontario is up 8% over 2006 (that was about 5 months ago) must higher now. Today in the states our prices are down by all time low, 35 yrs low, With millions out of work, and stronger qualification and hate to say it living in Indiana, its almost impossible to sell the average home on the market 2 yrs.  And they want every thing new, top notice and the lowest price ever., In all my other homes we sold in no than 1 week and at top dollar....not here, not Now, you can purchase a 2 bedroom home In Ft.Wayne for $55,000 you can purchase a $300,000 house that will have 9,000 sq ft, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2-3 acrers, swimming pool, mother in law house, and 5 garages... thats pretty standard here.. my lady friend daughter did just that..Mother lawa quarters, detached house with 2 bedrooms  1 1/2 bath, All glass year around sun room and it faces the swimming pool and woods, yet its totally private from the main house.. never in any other place can you purchase so much for so little Some day this area will be hit with the real world

Barb, you may recall I sold my house in Toronto in less than a week a year ago.  I didn't even have time to clean it up.  I thought you seemed to have quite a bit of energy when you were here last week. Don't push yourself, but I do think a little exertion is all to the good.

Is it almost a year?  Time goes so fast.  I just looked at the thermometer.  It is 10 already.  I wonder how much more it's going to go up.  this must be our taste of spring.

People saeem to have a hard time selling their places in larger towns and cities.  Around here they are snapped up almmost as soon as they come on the market.  Right now seems to be the time to put them up and when they are bought.  There are three on my street that have just been put up for sale.  there is someone looking at them several times a day.  One has an offer after a week ande I think probably by next week they will be gone.  It's probably because we seem to be a destination for seniors and in the old part of the village houses are so much cheaper than in the subdivisions.

I may just try going for a walk around the block today, I have been good and rested for the last three weeks and have gotten some my energy back.  I'm supposed to keep resting until the end of the month to let my lung heal, bu the way I feel I don't think a little walk in the sunshine should do any harm.

This is the day we are supposed to have a heat wave here.  The sun isn't up yet, but the sky is blue with some pink streamers of cloud.  I just realized that it is coming up to a year since I first saw my new house.  I was thinking about that when I went out on my bare deck this morning to sniff the air.  Last year at this time there was a huge mound of snow on it.  Now there's nothing.

Statins are the most prescribed drugs in the world, and there is no doubt that for people at high risk of cardiovascular problems, the drugs lower not only cholesterol but also the risk of heart attack and stroke. But for years doctors have been fielding reports from patients that the drugs leave them feeling "fuzzy," and unable to remember small and big things, like where they left the car, a favorite poem or a recently memorized presentation.

Last week, the Food and Drug Administration finally acknowledged what many patients and doctors have believed for a long time: Statin drugs carry a risk of cognitive side effects. The agency also warned users about diabetes risk and muscle pain.

Realestate - it's been done to me! The buyer dropped the deal while I was in the lawyer's office to sign the papers!! And they kep the deposit!! I was depending on that deposit for 1st months rent for an apt. They got away with it and their lawyer actually told me my lawyer let me down and was not paying attention! I got a new lawyer and that one didn't have the nerve to bill me for his "services".

I can't even think about going out and raking.  I still have over 3 feet of snow in places in both my front and back yard.  Maybe in another month or 2?
