Comment by Pamela on July 18, 2012 at 7:46am I have lived in Toronto all my life. A proud canadian and proud Torontonian. I love my city, always have but what happened the other night at a neighbourhood bbq disgusts me.
What is happeing to our young people where they think it's the thing to do to strap a gun on to go to a BBQ and start shooting randomly into the crowd killing and injuring innocents? After the Eaton Centre Incident was bad enough with innocents being hit. Yes that was gang retaliation so they say.
I was never frightened to go to these places before like the CNE or the Eaton Centre but now???
Do people not have words to settle differences anymore or even fists (that is violent enough). I don't understand a culture that goes into a bar and shoots a man in the head during a soccer match. Everyday recently I turn on the news and there is another casualty from violence in this terrific city.
I don't think all the basketball courts they build in this city is going to cure this problem. During the day the kids play there, during the night just places to hang around and cause trouble.
I don't know what the answer is. It just saddens me watching the city I grew up in and always felt safe in has become a place where I watch my back and rarely go out at night.
I feel fr the families of the innocents injured and killed over the last few years to this senseless violence.
Am I the only one that feels this way?
Comment by Pamela on July 6, 2012 at 11:22pm Thanks. Didn't notice the date. Will not miss out this year though. LOL. The time flies by so quickly you have missed something before you know it. That is unless you have it come up on your computer pr mark your calendar.
Comment by Frenchsalsa01 on June 26, 2012 at 9:27am Pamela, as can see, that particular event referred to here was held in 2011!! There is a Vegetarian show in Toronto held each year, held around the same time. You can do a google search and perhaps find the information you are seeking.
Comment by Pamela on June 25, 2012 at 9:29pm Hi, When and where is the Vegetarian Event? Cheers. Pamela
