- I was born in Ottawa,Ontario.As a youngster spent my early years in my father's hometown of Venosta,Quebec.My mother was from Chapeau,P.Q. and I spent many summer's at my Grandma's.Moved to Ottawa when I was 13 years until marriage to Shirley and then moved with my employer to Lindsay,then promoted to Peterborough and retired in 1992.Two sons,Robert & Greg living in Peterborough and Orlando,FL.Three grand-children;Emma 11,Jack 7 & Will 4 living in Jupiter,Florida.

I do like your 'photos. I was born in Dublin, Ireland and moved to Canada in the late 70's with the intention of going on to Australia. I didn't get further than Toronto and I'm still here. I do have a memory of Lindsay though and it is as follows;
I was invited buy a friend to visit her family in Lindsay and her Dad was an avid fiddler and may I say was extremely good at it. He also played the accordion and I could have listened to him for hours. He asked me if I liked potatoes and of course being Irish, I said 'of course' so later in the afternoon he asked if I would like to dig some up with him and so out I went with a pair of my friend's wellington boots to dig some spuds. The story gets very funny but I won't bore you with it but I will never forget Lindsay I can tell you that.
Nice to chat with you Basil and thanks for the friend invite.

Hey there Basil! I see that you grew up in Ottawa too. I was born in North Western Quebec and moved to Ottawa (with my family, of course!) in 1956.
