Well mine is not final loss - I hope! My cat (neutered male, aged 2 years) is missing! I used to hate him when he was a naughty spraying kitten but Simba became my best friend and I miss him greatly.
He didn't just wander off but fell…"

You know what they say about presume / assume! I have a Mac Mini running OSX Mountain Lion and using Firefox for my browser. I took my computer in to the Apple store in Burlington and learned that Pro Photo was misleading me. They did a "software repair" and showed there was nothing wrong with my disc drive which Pro Photo was prepared to replace.
The software is working fine now. And I am going to write a report on Pro Photo to a consumer service in the newspaper. They have been lying to me all along. They did not give me MP3 files as I asked, but some cdm? files that would not work. They insisted they were MP3 files all along until I proved them wrong! Then explained they couldn't do MP3 files with their equipment. So why did they accept the job and tell me that is what they had done and charged me $200+ for the job.
I told them they could use a free download software to convert the files for me and put them on a Flash drive I could supply. They wanted to charge me more for that too!! I said NO WAY! Left them a copy of the report on the CDs and left.
I had given them a lot of business previously but I will never go there again and feel I am entitled to a refund of my $200+!
Using the Community Access PC here, with the assistance of the supervisor there, I converted all the files to MP3 myself... THEN found out how badly she had messed up the job too!
I can't let them get away with this!
Don't know just when Zoomers made 'adjustments' to the site! As bad as Facebook changing things on us.
Thank you for your interest in my problems and taking the trouble to reply.
First, I have an Apple computer, a Mac Mini v.3. Everything was just fine until I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion and then all the trouble started.
With all the problems I have been having, I think now the only solution is to take it in to the shop. It is small enough that I can carry it in a shopping bag with my walker.
I could not continue to use my Quicken 2007 software (bummer with tax time coming up) so purchased a later version of Quicken, no longer available in Canada (!). Can't register it because it will not recognize a Canadian postal code! Damn Intuit!
I could try using Safari for a browser. It comes with the system. I used to like Netscape until Bill Gates and his Internet Explorer pretty well wiped it out. That's when I went to Firefox. I update all my software regularly whenever my system notifies me.
Something is really wrong with Mountain Lion! I think I need a pro to help me with this.
Hope you get this message okay. My 'real' address is:
Hi Derek. Congratulations on the new grandchild. Your daughter again, I presume.
I lost Winnie a couple of months ago. She was very old, blind and riddled with arthritis. I will get another cat eventually but not until after the winter. I'm making do with friends kitties in the meantime.
It's been a hot, dry summer here with just a bit too much company. I'm finally looking forward to some "me" time - after a trip to Toronto today.
I still have the travel package if anyone is interested in going to the Bahamas with me. If not, and I don't get an offer on Craig's list, I guess I'll just be out the $$ and chock it up to an expensive lesson.
I live in downtown Hamilton. Don't know anybody much here yet. Just moved here in Oct. 09.
Hi Derek: Just dropping by to say "Hi". I am a little under the weather with a low-grade flu. I now have laryingitis....probably a good thing.....hahaha. However, I can't attend my singing group tomorrow night.....I need to pass a couple of songs for our upcoming show on Nov. 21st with 3 other choruses. Thanks for the red ribbon...I need to return the favour.
