Remembering "The Voice" Mark Dailey RIP

Its been a bad month for veteran Citytv types; what with veteran cameraman Bill Atanasoff and now Mark...When I decided to do street performances in front of City, I knew I needed police support; also police news is a staple of Urban Affairs. So I set out to build a newsroom with close links to the Police and chanced on this ex-Mountie, Glen Cole, and convinced him to join the newsroom as our Assignment Editor.Mark DaileyGlen then brought in Mark, who had been a cop, to be our first on the…See More

About Me
Moses Znaimer is a Canadian media icon and innovator internationally recognized for his tireless quest to inform, enrich and engage our collective spirits. It is well known that Moses dramatically transformed the aesthetics, the politics, and the economics of television. In the 1970s, 80s and 90s, his groundbreaking concepts such as Speaker's Corner, Videography, Televised Diversity, and the Streetfront/Studioless operating system, were at the core of the over 20 popular and independent Stations and Channels he co-founded and executive produced, including Citytv, Bravo! - Canada's NewsStyleArtsChannel, SPACE: The Imagination Station, CablePulse24, Star!, FashionTelevision, Book Television, SexTV, Canadian Learning Television, not to mention MuchMusic and MusiquePlus, which served to define a generation of Canadian youth in both official languages. Moses' legacy extends throughout the broadcast world with ventures and licenses in Argentina, Columbia, Finland, and Spain. To permanently commemorate his visionary contribution to Toronto's urban landscape, the City of Toronto designated the famous downtown stretch of Queen Street West from John to Duncan – MOSES ZNAIMER WAY.

Once inspired by youth for youth, Moses is now defining A New Vision Of Aging for the 14.5 million Canadians 45plus and is creating a media and advocacy empire to serve this growing and dominant population segment which he calls Zoomers – derived from Boomers With Zip!

In December 2007, Moses became the Executive Director of CARP. With approximately 350,000 members 45plus, CARP is Canada's largest and most powerful association for Zoomer Advocacy, Benefits and Community. Moses also became the President and CEO of ZoomerMedia Ltd. (TSX Venture: ZUM) which publishes ZOOMER magazine, Canada's newest lifestyle magazine for men and women 45plus, and produces the ZoomerShow, a two-day consumer show and lifestyle expo featuring the latest information, products and services for Zoomers. ZoomerMedia also operates a suite of e-newsletters and websites including www.CARP.ca, the social networking site www.zoomers.ca, and www.50Plus.com, the authoritative Zoomer content supplier to Yahoo! Canada, MSN Sympatico and LavalifePrime. In addition, Moses is the proprietor of English Canada's only commercial all-classical radio stations, The New Classical 96.3 FM & 103.1 FM as well as The New AM740 Zoomer Radio. For 10 years, Moses has been the Executive Producer and Presenter of Toronto's prestigious annual ideaCity Conference, and in 2008, introduced the first CARP Conference, featuring cutting-edge ideas on aging, longevity and life extension.

Moses is President/Executive Producer of MZTV P&D, a boutique independent television production and distribution company; and founder of the MZTV Museum housing his collection of vintage television sets, arguably the largest in the world, encompassing 70 years of North American visual devices and associated popular culture, some 10,000 objects in all. His rare sets have appeared at Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum, the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa/Hull, the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in Banff, and most recently at the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montreal.

In 2008, Moses was named one of the Top 10 Media Moguls of the past 100 years by Marketing Magazine. His multiple honours include The Urban Alliance on Race Relations Diversity Award, The Human Rights Centre Gold Medal and the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews Human Relations Award for his outstanding promotion of tolerance and a multicultural, multiracial and multilifestyle Canada; the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal; the Republic of France's Chevalier de L'ordre des Arts et des Lettres; the Jane Jacobs Lifetime Achievement Award; and the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award, a special Juno Award recognizing Moses' outstanding contribution to the growth and advancement of the Canadian music industry.

Zoomer Thoughts

Pleased to be your 'friend'. When my U.S. friends talk about AARP, I love asking them to guess the Canadian equivalent 'CARP' (they always laugh). Then I tell them how the previous low key publication metamorphosed into the shiny, sexy Zoomers. Big improvement in the image and so much more fun.
