My Son's Music

David Monroe is the would-be beneficiary of his father’s multimillion-dollar enterprise. Avaricious and sadistic, Mr. Monroe creates an evil plot to secure his inheritance by using another human being to sow his seed and bear the children his barren wife cannot.

Bodies begin to disappear one after another. Helen Avery, seemingly a victim of these mysterious disappearances, manages to escape the gruesome nightmare and survives. Rescued from the outback of Australia, Helen begins her own investigation of the past, uncovering more and more evidence that ultimately points to David Monroe.

Set in 1980’s Australia, The Planting is a chilling novel of depravity and greed, rich with dynamic characters and twisted plots.

Friends remembered

For the record, the traditional crossing of hands should not be done until the fourth verse!

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

and never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

and days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,

For auld lang syne,

We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet

For auld lang syne

We twa hae run aboot the braes

None So Deaf, As Those Who Will Not Hear!

Insidiously, at first unnoticed, the sound of silence entered my life. Invisible fingers of unreality probed their way into my sub-consciousness.

‘Why are you mumbling, when you talk to me? (Your fault?)

‘Turn the TV sound up. (Old film?)

‘Yes, of course I can see it is raining. (‘See’ not hear?)

‘No, I never heard the phone ringing. (Never rang?)

Denial, anger and resentment set in.… Continue

Halloween

“Eye of newt and toe of frog

Wool of bat and tongue of dog.

Adder’s fork and blind-worms sting,

Lizard’s leg and owlet’s wing.

For a charm of powerful trouble,

Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, Double, toil and trouble.

Fire burn and cauldron bubble.”

William Shakespeare.

A sigh of satisfaction escaped Emma Jone’s lips as she finished stirring the cauldron. Her very first magic potion! Her… Continue

Hello, Violet. How are you down under? Not freezing your extremities like we are here, I'll bet. Just wanted to let you know I got your book. I have one and a half others to get through before I read it, but I'm looking forward to it.
Cheers, Annette
