This Is Good

An old story is told of a king in Africa who had a close friend with whom he grew up. The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occurred in his life (positive or negative) and remarking, “This is good!”

One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The friend would load and prepare the guns for the king. The friend had apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns, for… Continue

Beautiful Loser: 10 Pictures of Leonard Cohen in a Bed of Tulip Bulbs

To Joanie re Elvis from Milton

Hi Joanie, I am new to this so I don't know if I am answering this properly.  Anyway, thanks for the info on Steven Kabakos.  You are right.  It doesn't say too much for the casino that they didn't even feature one of their own Canadians with some kind of an introduction.  Steven is really a fabulous talent and I will follow him to see where he is going.  I have already alerted my friends to watch for him.  Thanks for the lead.  Anne

Elvis Impersonator at Niagara Casino fantastic

For all you Elvis fans this is a must.  My husband and I went to see the 'Return to Grace' Show at Niagara Casino on Friday past and it was, in my estimation, the best Elvis impersonator I have ever seen.  I felt transported to the past.  He looked like him, he had the same moves and had his expression, speaking voice and singing voice down pat.  I tried to see what his name is but it wasn't listed in the description provided by the casino.  Anyway, go see this guy if you can.  The show is only… Continue

Art

Hi Everyone:

I do not mind critisizm. It helps an artist grow.I would gladly welcome opinions on how I can improve my depth perception or strengthening and weakening of colors and strokes to create effect or even texture suggestions would be gladly listened to.Everyone has their own opinion on how to do things and the world would be a very boring place if we were all the same.Art is not always butterflies and flowers.Disasters have been portrayed in art for…

Consider the mess that cars are making of our beautiful natural world as they spread fumes and noise into a once serene environment. And in their production and… Continue
