Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

Hello all Zoomers,

How much do you know about Canada's aviation history?

I invite everyone to view a magnificent collection of vintage aircraft (some restored to flying condition, others rebuilt for static display) flown by Canadians in past wars and in United Nations peace-keeping missions.

Take a look at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (Mount Hope, ON) web site at ...

Journey through the CASTLE principles with Lance Secretan

Courage is important in every aspect of our lives: at work, at school, with our children, in our relationships, as coaches and mentors, in politics. This is where great leadership starts, both in organizational settings and in personal and home environments.

"Trust that still, small voice that says, "This might work and I’ll try it." "- Diane Mariechild

Organizational leadership can’t be separated from the rest of life—it is one. There is no “organizational leadership,”… Continue

Oh my God ... and now I'm shrinking

My daughter Nili is expecting her third child any day now. So that I’m free to go to Ottawa (where she lives) and help her out after the baby’s born I’ve been scheduling as many “check-ups” as I can this week. Yesterday, for example, I had a mammogram, a bone density test, and an interview/orientation about Disaster Response with the Red Cross. Tomorrow I have a re-do of a root canal. Funny that I need more body work than my car (but then again, my car is much younger). So here’s the thing.… Continue

True Confessions: My 3-pairs-of-shoes week

I'm going to tell you a story about shoes. Well - it sort of has shoes as a main player in the story but truly it's about finding my way, one foot at a time. Even in my determination to withdraw from over-consuming I bought 3 pairs of shoes in one week just a few weeks ago, and so am feeling that I need to confess. Being Jewish, it's far too long to wait until next Yom Kippur (our standard confession season) so if you don't mind I'm going to do my confessing here.

One recent morning… Continue

I don’t know if my high school experience was altogether so different from many of you, but I was unmotivated by my curriculum and generally a klutz athletically. I turned to music as my escape; working and practising with high school buddies and kids from other schools, I occasionally scored the odd gig in bars and parties, and less occasionally scored with the women. Various bands I was in were opening acts… Continue

RETIREMENT$$$ OPTIONS FOR ZOOMERS

I would like to extend my services to all members! As a professional/independent in the Financial Planning Field my goal is to give you some peace of mind to all your questions and concerns. As we all know the financial markets have not shown us any positive gains this year, however most of us are not aware of other options to cushion the negative impacts of a credit crunch and poor economy. If you have been laid off recently, or retired and require a postive cash flow for your personal… Continue

The smell of summer grass....

Yup that smell reminds you of the rotten leaves that are stuck under your stairs, and imprisoned in your garden behind the sticky bushes, and lest we forget all the damage done by squirrels, raccoons and that ugly dog that poops in your yard because his master didn't buy a leash!!!!

Saturday dawns, gorgeous day, hot, sunny and I was awakened by the hammering of nails, and zinging of power saws and dogs barking with glee to be out of the house. I am armed with my rakes (yes I have 2)… Continue

We all know how to set a goal, but do we know how to get that goal?

Hello Friends,

Virginia Wild here. I just got off an incredible and awakening conference call. We all know what our goal is, but do we know how to get that goal?

The goal for most of us is financial. There has to be an emotional attachment to the reason we want that goal. Why are we doing this?

A goal without the passion is just a wish.

This is just one of the benefits that this community gives me. Along with support, calls, webinars, training and… Continue
