There were two main reasons why Holly and I went to Americade a couple of weeks back. The first was to get out and see the countryside and visit some familiar places we hadn't been to in a while. This past week I attended ideaCity, Moses Znaimer’s wonderful thoughts and ideas conference that takes place annually around this time of year. A persistent theme in this year’s conference was man’s impending and possibly imminent doom as a species as a result of exploitation, misuse and neglect of Earth’s abundance and the indifference of the rest of us. Like other ecosystems and civilizations before us, we are on the road to what will become…

I’m presently reading “The Richest Man in Babylon,” by George S. Clason. The interesting thing is it was written in 1933 the year I was born. Why did someone not mention it earlier, if I had followed its principles I would have been financially better off today at 76. But it is a good read with sound practical
advice.

Where is it in the heart of humankind that lurking pact of evil?
That fundamental darkness that causes chaos and upheaval,
That sour presence that strips away our human dignity and soul,
In a world of growing intolerance that is spiraling out of control.
Storm clouds form over a putrid tempest of hate and blind mistrust,
As the world grinds to a standstill by the headstrong and the unjust,
A minority suppressing all human rights with their egotistical…

Hi there fellow Zoomers. I am back blogging. It really isn't something I am very responsible with but, at one time, a hundred and one years ago, I use to write.
My sons's wedding is over. It was a wonderful and fun time in Vancouver. Yesterday's Rotary Fest in Chemainus was fun but certainly not profitable. It was meant to be a family time with artists of all description there to add zest. I sold one card. That's it.
Julie, fellow Zoomer and I have our strange illness in…
