Having been a CARP Ambassador the last several months, I would like to take it one step further and start a Chapter in Thornhill, Ontario. I have a few interested individuals but we need to complete an executive board before we go any further. If you are interested and would like to learn more about this venture, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Listen to the Seniors!

Sometimes it helps to be reminded of how things were. Five years ago, New

Brunswick residents who entered nursing homes were treated very unfairly.

Daily rates were different all over the province and ranged as high as $180

per day. Couples were required to use their joint incomes and assets to

cover these costs. It was different in our province from most other parts

of Canada. The policies at that time caused great hardship for many New

Brunswickers.

With the Parliamentary Inquiry going on about Prisoners of War Torture. We have heard from on Diplomat we will hear from career Generals and at least one more Career Diplomat.

All who have Careers Pensions and other interests to protect.

Will we hear from foot soldiers present and former who were on the ground and seeing things first hand.

'A SOLDIER'S SILENT NIGHT' by Father Ted

T'was the night before Christmas

URGENT HELP NEEDED FORM CRTC!

CRTC

Sir, now, the ball is, in your court.

After my last of, many letters about Bell Canada Service. I was again complaining about the lack of HIGH SPEED AND/OR WIRELESS HIGH SPEED INTERNT in our area.

Sir, I talked to many Executives at Bell and the answer for High Speed was NO! Although, they did not put that in writing!

They have, “NO PLANS FOR HIGH SPEED IN THIS AREA FOR, YEARS!”

Mindful Eating

The mind's first step to self-awareness must be through the body.

George Sheehan

To Lose Weight, Turn On Your Radar

How I eat determines how much I eat far more than I would like to admit. That’s why I try to avoid—sometimes successfully, sometimes not—what I refer to as “beneath the radar” eating.

Unless I pay attention, this type of eating won’t show up in my daily food journal. Examples include enjoying a bite or two of whatever I am cooking while… Continue

PIRATE RADIO IS BOGUS

Pirate Radio is BOGUS, says Keith Hampshire who served on-board as a dee-jay aboard ‘Radio Caroline’, the private radio station on a ship England’s North Sea, serving Rock’n'Roll music to Britain’s youth in the 1960s.

Later becoming a major Canadian star with hits like ‘First Cut is the Deepest’, ‘Daytime, Nightime’, ‘Big Time Operator’ and the classic Toronto anthem ‘OK Blue Jays’, Hampshire was onboard ‘Radio Caroline’ from 1966 to 1967, the subject of a new movie called ‘Pirate… Continue

BYE, BYE, STEVIE

Prime Minister Harper just did the greatest thing for
Canada he has ever done.
He left the Country for about a month. He wont be back until sometime in December.
I was wondering though.
Is he really globe hopping with out a Swine Flu shot.
I mean I don’t think he qualified to get one early.
Or, was the House of Commons, among the rich people, who just happen to be able to jump to the head of the line.

What I Know For Sure About Fitness

Staying fit is part of my life’s work. When I stepped on the bathroom scale seven years ago, the scale broke. In that instant, I decided to break away from the habits that were keeping me sick, tired and overweight.

Over the next six months, I lost 62 pounds of fat. Just as importantly, I lost the chains that kept me from moving toward my dreams. I’ve learned a great deal about myself during my seven-year adventure (or perhaps I should say inventure). Here are 9 truths I know for… Continue

WHY H1N1 IS THE BIGGEST SCAM SINCE THE Y2K BUG

No disrespect towards my fellow Zoomermag.com blogger (and Canadian hero), General Rohmer, but in regards to his recent piece on why Zoomers should get "pricked" with the H1N1 vaccine, don't believe the hype.

Death Rates Decrease as Job Losses Increase.

It’s true. The mortality rates decline when job losses increase and the economy takes a downturn. Contrary to what one would probably think is that physical or mental health would become worse leading to death by poor health or suicide as the jobs disappear and the economy crashes, per say.

Studies over the past 9 years have shown that mortally goes up with economic highs and goes down with contractions and not the opposite as one would expect.

In this writers option, I… Continue

H1N1 back again! Yes to the Flu Shot!

Well, I must say right off that if you are newer to the internet like (2 years or less), you probably won't get the flu shot and or eat at KFC Kentucky Fried Chicken etc etc. There are numerous sites on the internet that gain significant awareness from newer gullible viewers expressing legends and myths about products and or services.

I have been travelling though North America for the last 30 years. I average about 60,000 air miles and approximately 25,000 road miles. I am immunized by a… Continue
