I stood there and peered through the fence watching the cutest boy in town making a spectacular dive into the town pool and melted. The summer had begun and I had yet to make decisions between sitting at home reading my…

The dictionary states that the word shopping is an intransitive verb that means: "to examine goods or services with intent to buy”. I seldom shop much anymore but the chance of going holiday shopping in my dictionary means: “mass examining of lots of goods with some intent to buy”.

I can't remember how old I was when I started watching the Charlie Brown holiday programs. All I know is I can still quote a lot of the text from each particular show with tears in my eyes.
Charlie Brown reminds me of a lot of people I walked through life with. They were not sure…

Alice read the personal ads that had been thrown down on the floor by the bed. She knew that Bob’s mind was living somewhere else these days besides inside their 2 story home. Putting on her glasses she slowly began to read them until one grabbed her by the throat and did not let go.
"Attractive athletic guy with a fun down to earth personality and…

Once upon a time, public display of 'word' consisted of writing content in bathroom stalls or on walls. Sometimes walls could talk and gossip would get back to us later about who wrote what where and why. Our thoughts were written down in personal diaries or letters that were sent and kept in a box for posterity. Things were whispered and kept in private and only years down the road would you find out things you wish you would have known sooner.
Now the "wall" that…

In 1962 I officially became a Beatnik at the age of 11. There were no official notices, no immediate black clothing; I just got up one morning and started to write bad poetry and that was that. The primary inspiration was the fact that my father said that Jack Kerouac was a bad influence on young people. Yesterday morning I woke up with a start and the pulsing of the alarm seemed to infiltrate every inch of my brain. As soon as I put on my slippers I “fell out” of them and the cold concrete floor suddenly became home. As I turned on the stove one of the burners caught on fire and I had to think quickly. Was I in my right mind or floating around in some other universe? I was acting exactly like I was on some sort of mind numbing drug.
Having never been into the drug scene…
