Is Body Hair Something Women Should Be Ashamed Of?

I don't know if I have the right to enter this discussion as the hair on my legs has always grown at the speed of one hair per 6 months. But if the commercials from Veet are to be believed, there's nothing more terrifying to a straight dude than touching a moderately hairy leg on a woman. The hair removal brand has come out with a new ad campaign which warns women not to "risk dudeness" with their prickly, hairy legs.

Does not shaving our legs automatically make you a man? What exactly does that say about men who remove their body hair?

Are men really scared of our leg hair? Of course letting your body hair grow won't make you less of a woman, but it might get you less dates.

Is it similar to not having a clean pair of underwear in our pocket for emergencies? Should we avoid emergency medical care with hairy legs? Dude, if an ER doctor or tech can be scared by hair, they need to find a new line of work.

After facing significant backlash, Veet has decided to pull the sexist spots. Are they silly, harmless commercials? Or is it time to turn down the sensitivity volume? A lot of women choose Veet or an affiliate like Nair so they can do the job all by themselves and be hairless for at least 14 days. It is astonishing to me that women are still using poisonous chemicals on their bodies. This stuff absorbs right into your bloodstream and organs, which could in turn host a number of health issues.

Is it really worth it? If you wouldn't ingest a product, then it shouldn't be used on your skin. Read those labels ladies, there are so many great, natural products out there. After all, beauty is hard to appreciate from a hospital bed. Does anyone think any of this has harmed Veet? I am sure the company is laughing all the way to the bank--especially after all this publicity. Genius!

I do not know how long this video will be up because Veet is very ashamed now and pulling them all down.

Heck...it's a terrific ad!  Actually, the older one gets, the less it grows...everywhere.

Body hair pride! The commercial is probably offensive on a lot of levels, kind of made me smile. Not sure how I feel about that....

I've always been hairless and I was envious of those with hair...even armpit or leg hair.  It just seems sexy to me.  I feel so sorry for people doing those stupid waxes.  Just be thankful for who you are and what you have.  It is all good.
