My beloved "Material Girl" Madonna has always been into shoes, and I wonder if she is now cutting personal wardrobe costs by designing her own footwear line. The Queen of Pop began with perfumes and colognes with her new Truth or Dare product line but now the Aldo shoe chain is going “Into the Groove” with the style setting singer.
Madonna wants to “Dress You Up' along side Aldo, with a line that will include over 60 styles priced from $89 to $349. Stylist and "W.E." costume designer Arianne Phillips, will serve as creative consultant for Madonna.
So far, the shoe line has “expressed themselves” in the same kind of glitzy vein as Madonna's 2012 Super Bowl halftime show: Glittery, sultry and trimmed in gold and black lace.
“I don’t really look at it as a celebrity line,” Neil Cole, CEO of Iconix Brand Group Footwear, told Women's Wear Daily. “The key is going to be great product and marketing, and the fact that Madonna is our partner is an added twist.” Her “Like a Virgin' shoe line will debut or fall/winter 2012. She previously released a Truth or Dare fragrance and her line that targets women ages 27 to 50. Since Madonna turns 54 this August 16 and I turn 61 on July 24; are we both now over the target range to 'Vogue” in her new line of shoes?
