Oh, my goodness. How degraded these women were. Thank-you for the snap shot and reminding me how far we have come. When my daughter behaves unlady like I remind her women's history and she gets a glazed over look on her eyes that says, "I'm bored." Someday she will understand.

Parts of England 2012. Only the other day when a waitress at the Seafood Emporium dropped a fork a customer said "....and while your down there love."
He should have looked at her canine teeth first. Poor bloke.

That cellophane ad was new to me -- it's the most horrible of them all -- and you've got quite a collection of horrible here! The War on Women has always been here -- it just changes images.

SkypixieZero I am male, I was only commenting about these ads, I know we were brought up that way then!!
Seeing the ads now in todays society is completely different, it shows the male dominance in advertising then and how men viewed women.
I added the ads just to show what and how women were thought of then.

You are not kidding, my friend! I lived in the era of "Mad Men" when I overheard a conversation between male bosses....not mine.....to the effect that women should not be in the office but at home...in the kitchen. This was at BP Canada in Montreal....the time frame would have been between 1963 and 1968....I am sure I would have said something to my bosses...I am feisty enough....but as to liking "Mad Men"....never did...only because it reminded me of those years.....and I won't get into the groping bosses....but that was in another city and with another company.
