Well, it's been a long time since I posted a blog anywhere.  Last time was back in Yahoo 360 days and since then I've not found a place to park my intellect and get down to the nitty gritty of writing.  I've been cruising around, Zoomer surfing to be more specific and I am really liking what I see.  It's strange because one would not think that the virtual world would offer this feeling of being able to sense out the joint!!! but darn it all, I'm getting some pretty good vibes.  So I won't bore nobody with anymore blah blahs, for now...have a great weekend everyone.

Werner!! Like Linda says, just jump in the blogging lake and go for it, writing is personal and unique, we all have our style and we all write as per our reality.  As for coming off as if you're bragging, I strongly believe that no matter what, people will interpret it as per their reality.  So let go of the *what people think* attitude and simply be yourself, the rest is really unimportant.

ahh Werner... you just jump in the blogging lake and go for it. I have been blogging for about 7 years now. 5 on a site that no one saw me not even the cyber dust bunnies commented.. I go back and read some of them and shake my head. You start somewhere and just keep going.

So why not blog about car racing.. Hell I did on Citroens once..:)

Blogs kind of intimidate me, I have a lot of stories in my head, but I'm always afraid to come across as bragging about something. I recall the teacher in 7th grade telling me that I was a great story teller because of my essays that were kind of different from the other kids, I usually wrote about my experience of my summer vacations at a farm.

I'm rather passionate on certain subjects and even created a website  about my biggest passion, namely car racing, a sport that I have been involved since my early teens in one aspect or another, but again I'm scared about coming across as someone bragging. In some ways its like dragging a ball and chain, while I love the sport, a lot of the people I know roll their eyes at the mention of motorsport, they think its just a bunch of thrill seekers looking for a way to go out in a blaze of glory (nothing could be further from the truth)

I'm the kind that tells it like it is, I'm lousy at sugar coating things, whether personal or not, but I guess I lack confidence in some aspects, which sounds kind of contradictory to the way I might sound.

All this to say that I admire your skills, Linda, I wish that I had 10% of your confidence in yourself and that I was closer to your location, in order to take in a course that you should offer on how to write a blog, I'm not talking about being successful but about having the confidence in oneself to take the plunge.

I''ve looked at "writer Wednesday" but have not seen a subject that I would be confident enough to write about, I know its like in school were the teacher throws up a subject for an essay and we had to come up with a story, I hated d the challenge and loved it as well because it forced us to dig deep into our intellect and memories, maybe I'm just getting old an lazy, but I still envy your skills.

Usually I could defend myself but my son attempted suicide that day in Ottawa and these people went on for a week doing blogs etc mad because I got so many hits etc and what they thought I was doing wrong in their small minds. So I said' "screw it life is not worth this crap' and left. So much happier doing what I do now. I put my photos on Viewshound every day and blog here and I go over to Open Salon once a week.

All is good.

It's all a game to them Linda. It gives them a false sense of power.

Excellent Sylvie..

I sometimes do not get it why people have to be so mean but I guess they feel their identity is hidden. Still no right to treat others poorly.

Welcome to Zoomers..

HUGGGGGGGG

Hi Linda, I totally know where you are coming from, I have horror stories to tell about my sojourn on Yahoo.  Thank you very much for the comment and yes I do feel the support on here.  Like I've often said, good support is like a good bra ;) *joke*  I've looked at the wednesday writer's challenge and I'm already starting to think in *technicolor*

I once blogged on the top of the heap and realized after being terrorized by writer trolls hits were not all that. I came here almost a year ago on the advise of a friend.. and boy I am glad I did. I still blog once a week on the other place due to the insistence of friends but I LOVE this place as they support you and I am at peace.. Thats what its all about.
