Summer Solstice - Celebrate Your Passion

Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth,
"You Owe Me."

Look what happens with
A Love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky.

~Hafiz

As the sun reaches its zenith in the sky we celebrate the beginning of summer. The sun represents the divine masculine - action, endurance, discipline, and ambition - how you go after the things you want.

With the energy of the sun flowing, this is a great time to tap into the fire within you, feel your vitality and your will power.

During this experiment of A Year to Live I've become painfully aware of some people around me living lives of quiet desperation. Henry David Thoreau said, "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them". Don't let your song go unsung.

Have you lost your passion, your unique fire, that is burning within you? It's never too late to reconnect with your passion. It may be a smoldering coal, but with enough oxygen it could become a bonfire. Remembering what you love to do breathes life into the fire. Setting aside time to do what you love is kindling you add, enjoying yourself fuels it.

I've spent lots of time this year getting clear on what I'm truly passionate about, and it's helped me feel good about myself, stay true to myself, say "no" to things that aren't aligned with my passions. I've found that saying NO to things that aren't aligned with my deepest heart's desire is one of the paths to saying YES to the life I want to live.

If you need a bit of help reconnecting with your passions The Passion Test book might be a great resource for you.

I wish you a life filled with passion, starting today.
