Living in the Turks and Caicos Islands for the past 12 years has given the crew at DiscoverTCI the insider's edge for putting together a 'Best of Turks & Caicos - Food & Drink category'. For those of you interested in visiting this Caribbean delight, this list should help with 'where shall we try next' when it comes to deciding where to eat and drink down here in the Turks & Caicos and will also tell you the best place to catch up on local gossip. List available online at http://www.discovertci.tc/foodanddrink.html

Best Hamburger
The Big Mac at Aqua (Turtle Cove Marina)
Close second: Jimmy’ s Dive Bar (Ports of Call) – true New York style.

Best Conch Salad
Boogaloos in Blue Hills: a Turks & Caicos tradition
Close second: Simba at Turks and Caicos Club. They call it ceviche but we know what they mean

Best Island Drinks
Tie:
Bay Bistro at Sibonne (especially if Junior is working)
Hemingway’s at The Sands (ask for Korner’ s special)

Best Non Island Drink
Danny Buoys: You never know what they are cooking up behind the bar and if all else fails it’ s the only place to get a Guinness on tap.

Best Romantic Dinner
Anacaona at Grace Bay Club. Wonderful seaside setting and romantic atmosphere, enhanced by the new fire pits.
Grace’s Cottage at Point Grace: a classic Caribbean experience.

Best Culinary Innovations
Coyaba. Chef Paul Newman (no, not the actor) has been wowing them for years in the TCI.

Best Local Bar
Three Queen’ s, Blue Hills. The first bar in Provo. Enjoy the cool breezes and local charm.

Most Unique Bar
The infiniti bar at Grace Bay Club. It goes on for miles (or so it seems after a few rum punches).

Most impressive bar
Amanyara. Circular design with ultra high ceilings -- and very creative drinks.

Best View
Magnolia. Tracey and Giovanni entertain you overlooking Turtle Cove Marina. Food’ s pretty good, too.

Best Restaurant Newcomer
Opus. Tony, Abbie and Rollie recreate their magic at a renovated Ocean Club classic.

Best place for a quick lunch
Bernie’ s Roadside Café . A bit off the beaten path for tourist (on Leeward Highway) but fast, friendly service at bargain prices.

Best Sports Bar
Tie
Danny Buoys: if you like European or American sports, DB’ s has it all – with two satellite feeds (Direct TV and Sentanta)
Shark Bite: The Turtle Cove classic with new big screens and the same great views overlooking the marina.

Best Pizza
Pizza Pizza. So good they had to name it twice. Two locations, too, including delivery from their Grace Bay shop.

Best Place To Catch Up On Island Gossip
Gilley at the airport. All the coming and going happen here and they serve a mean fish sandwich. Just don’ t miss your flight.
