Most of Canada will celebrate a statutory holiday on Monday, February 18th. In some provinces it's called Family Day and in others it is called either Louis Riel or Islander Day. It made me think of my family and how fast they have grown up and the changes that have happened over the years.

When did my eldest son Schuyleur stop blowing out candles in front of his mother and stickers of Yogi Bear suddenly were replaced with pictures of him and his lovely wife.

What about Perry? When did his childhood smiles turn into marriage and a wife?

When did minimalist decor turn into eclecticism?

When did Bluemist Volker Aksel turn into just plain old Axel Rose?

When did two boys with their dogs and toys turn into men with businesses?

When did a kid who loved Pee Wee Herman turn into an accomplished goalie?

Why did a sister die so young leaving her children to mourn?

When did a blip on a fetal monitor turn into a Subway eating champion?

When did helping the kids do book reports turn into writing my own?

How did two small children create so many memories under my nose?

If you are old then what am I?

I can smile at the old days

                                      Let the memories live again
