It's One Hundred Ella-ven Degrees Fitzgerald,
but somehow it's still cool in the shade of this scat singing.
It's beyond balmy
It's more than muggy
It's surpassed Scorching
The lyrics by Irving Berlin explain local meteorological phenomena in clear non-technical terms.
"She started a heat wave
By letting her seat wave
In such a way that
The customers say that
She certainly can can-can."
"Gee her anatomy
Makes the mercury
Jump to ninety-three."
This post is dedicated to everyone living where the weather's been Too Darned Hot.

Comment by Geezerchick on July 2, 2012 at 4:52pm Actually, you can become a weather witch. Practice watching the radar on your local weather website and think about the clouds moving your way and dropping rain. Pick a time and place. We've been having weather in the high 90's. I often get it to rain at night. The plants appreciated it, but the days are still scorching.
Comment by Jason Giecek on June 28, 2012 at 3:45am I would like to bid on some of that rain. The month of June, we haven't had a drop and July is looking like a very hot start....pfffft.....stupid weatherman!! :D
Comment by CreekEnd_UK on June 27, 2012 at 11:10am Well it's 'nipply' at best here but we do have rain for sale on ebay if you're desperate.
Comment by Kimberly on June 25, 2012 at 1:35pm Yes, it is too hot here and has been for the last two years for every season or at least that is how I feel. Here is to hoping we have those 83 to 85 days again or I might consider moving to New Hampshire or Vermont. ha ha ha
Comment by Shelley Smith on June 25, 2012 at 12:02pm Ahhh! Now it all makes sense. I should have said "Canadian West Coast"... Ha! Although today the moss looks like it might dry a little.
I live in the California Central Valley here in Sacramento. As soon as surface-level wind patterns change, we should revert back to our normal summer weather, highs around 95 - 100 F, lows around 65 F.
Writing about the heat because that's more interesting than mild weather. Besides, need to sing to the well-heated folks in the rest of the continent.
Seems like the last several summers have been mild for us and hot-hot-hot for everyone East of the Sierras.
We've had a couple of hot days past the 100 degree mark already. Enough that I don't need to dream about having any more.
Comment by Linda Seccaspina on June 25, 2012 at 10:52am LOL yes he does shelley hahahah

Comment by Shelley Smith on June 25, 2012 at 10:03am Steve,
Nice. You obviously don't live on the west coast. I dream of a heat wave...
