Writer Wednesday Prompt #68: In Like A Lion, Out Like A Lamb

February 9th, 2011

Two years ago I was living in paradise, this year not so much.

Thanks to my friend  SHEBA MARX for sharing her winter photos.

The weather gods are predicting another powerful weather system that is now sitting in some remote bar in the Rockies. The storm dumped more snow in the mountains and up to 10 inches in some parts of midwest is on its way. The weather whisperers have also spoken - it will move east.

My friend Wanda just emailed me at 5:45 am today. There is another snowstorm today in Arkansas and she will not teach as the schools are closed. They were also closed for three days last week.

The FAO has warned the population of earth that food prices could climb even higher, expressing great concern about the world's weather patterns. Are the food prices not high enough?

Can some clever science student from Grade 10 not shoot something into the clouds to stop this crazy weather?  No one else seems to have any bright ideas as they are too busy arguing whether global warming exists.

HSBC the world's largest bank is now investing $100 million dollars to train their bank's employees.  No, not in customer service but in something called the "HSBC Climate Partnership".

The bank's employee’s new venture drove them to create a program that automatically shuts down computers at night. That would be 2,200 employees at $45,400 each for a two week course to learn how to turn a computer off.

Could they have not sent out a memo and maybe used the $100 million dollars to help reduce food costs?  Seems like a no brainer to me.

If global warming is left unchecked, the scientists say that we could experience more intense weather events that could make the film 2012 look like a Disney film.

Urban legend is that Mr. Walt Disney is already frozen. We are probably next without the cronic chamber!

Al Gore has made tons of money out of global warming, can he not share more for research or has Tipper got his balls in a row for alimony?

Did she leave him because she knows things we do not know?

We poison the rivers,  the air and cover the land with more concrete than Tony Soprano ever saw in his lifetime.

Environmental policies gone wild!  Melting Glaciers gone wilder!

The U.S. is mandating that U.S. consumers purchase corn ethanol which
is harming the environment while paying the corn ethanol industry to
produce these fuels and keeping a cleaner competitor (sugarcane ethanol) from entering the country via a protective tariff
. (AP)

Reverend Pat Robertson has sparked controversy when he claimed that God created the blizzard  that battered the Northeast "to punish Americans who were planning to drive to do something gay."

What kind of person listens to this crap?

Rev. Robertson also said, "Because of the bad road conditions the Almighty has made, any gay activities that people were planning on doing will have to be postponed by a day or two."

This man gives me a headache!

He also said on the "700 Club" that,

"God shut down major airports in the New York area "so
that people who were hoping to fly to do something of a gay nature would have to take a train or a bus, so it might be days before the gay thing they were going to do could occur."

People donate money to this man's cause? Are they insane?

Linda in the west with a record setting warm January two years ago.

Linda this year!

Sheba in the East with a record setting December and January.

Making "Where's Winter Waldo?" proud! Can you find Sheila? Has anyone seen the rain?

Well first off, maybe we could set up a company so we could be the one's getting paid big bucks to teach people how to turn their computers off!!!!

And I guess I'm lucky I'm in California, where the weather never interferes with my gay activities!!!

Now thats what I call 'proper' snow. The dog reminded me of  Godzilla as it emerged from  the snow  as well.
