I'm sorry if this is not a Blog as such but I need input from as many people as possible. (Is there another section where I should be posting?)
I have been asked by a senior to record her life story, type it up, print and compile into a booklet. I expect she willl also want pictures included which would require my copying (I'm thinking of the price of ink!!!). She wants to pay by the page. I have no idea what to charge her or whether to present her with the individual segments of the process and individual costs to her. Even then, what to charge??!! I've looked on Google but those prices are for professional writers who need to make a living. I don't need a living cost charge as I am retired myself, but neither do I want to put time into a project and incur costs without receiving any fair recompense. I know seniors (she is in her eighties) are often shocked by prices and I don't want to appear to be greedy or trying to take advantage of her. Help!!!!

Comment by Linda Seccaspina on November 4, 2012 at 11:36am I guess if it was me I would not charge.. but if you needed to buy pink and pay for printing then I would get her to pay those bills- and if she gives you extra then consider it a gift. I just hope someone would do that for me.. So very kind of you.
