If you enjoyed Sideways, you'll likely want to add director Alexander Payne's latest, The Descendants to your Must-See-Movies list.
The film, which screened earlier this month at TIFF, stars our favourite bachelor, George Clooney, as a father of two teenaged daughters whose wife suffers a life-threatening boating accident, placing her on life support.
The film is adapted from the debut novel of author Kaui Hart Hemmings.
The film, which hits theatres November 23, has received favourable reviews so far:
"Rather then depressing, this film is uplifting. You realize that even problems so far from your home are the same all over. Go out, spend a few bucks, see the move, you'll be happy you did." - IMDB reviewer, samlapidus
"The Descendants" is one of those satisfying, emotionally rich films that works on multiple levels. Some will call their travel agents to book Hawaiian vacations as soon as they dry their eyes (just as "Sideways" boosted wine-tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley), while more cynical auds should find layers to engage their sensibilities as well." - Peter Debruge, Variety
"It is better than Sideways, and excellent comedy-drama. Oscars? Absolutely. It is easily one of the years best films, and a major Oscar contender." - IMDB reviewer, Matthew Yendell
Will you be catching this one in theatres? Or waiting until it's out on DVD?
